Production
One of the main difficulties I encountered in making, my video advert was that as I filmed it in the studio gallery - this is a busy area as many people walk through this area to access different parts of the campus which produced unnecessary background nose such as door slamming. Furthermore at times I found doing an American accent difficult, and I messed it up often however Holly (the camera operator) was really patient, which helped me relax and get the accent right. Patience is key in teamwork.
When editing my video advert using Premiere Pro, Tony taught me how to use adjustment layers to clean up and brighten the image. This made a real difference to overall picture of the video advert, I learnt how to adjust elements such as Exposure and color temperature.
I also learnt how to use cross fades for the audio of me speaking which ensured there were no sudden jumps with the audio, and made the overall video seem more professional.
Here is the difference between having the adjustment layer on and off:

One of the other big challenges I faced in creating the video based advert was attempting to remove the background fan noise. I did however learn how to remove a large part of it by using the spectogram tool Adobe audition. I learnt that sounds like fans or air conditioning units produce a sound that looks like a horizontal straight line when viewing audio in the spectogram tool. This can easily be identified in the spectogram too therefore I identified this and removed it using the Marquee selection tool.
As you can see in the picture there is a line with no audio within it, this is where the fan noise used to be, but I have now removed it.
In terms of creating the print-based campaign adverts, I used multiple sheets of white paper, panel LED light and a reflector. I shot these using my phone camera (iPhone X) and these really turned out really well. It did take quite a while however to get the perfect lighting but I got there in the end (again patience was a key part). I edited these using Photoshop, and in fact I managed to find one of the actual fonts Apple use on Photoshop, which was Myriad Pro.
Tony taught me how to use different layers on Photoshop, and also showed me how to get the clean white background that I wanted to make my print based advert look like a genuine apple advert. I learnt how to use the brightness and contrast tool to get the white background that I wanted, which really improved my image.
